This 6 km stretch of beautiful natural
beach and dunes runs from Gale Beach to the fishing town of Armacao de
Pera, where you can watch the fishermen bringing in their daily catch of
fresh fish. All along the beach there are many beach bars to taste this
delicious sea food. Enjoy a glass of chilled vinho verde or have a large
beer and watch the amazing sunsets. There are a variety of water sports available if you’re feeling active, but if you just want to relax and catch a few rays, you can hire a sunbed and totally chill out. With the sun shining most of the year and the clear blue Atlantic Ocean washing over the beach, there is no better place than the Algarve, to spend your vacation. |

The Salgados Lagoon is a true sanctuary
for wildlife lovers. Winding its way through Salgados Golf Course,
separated from the beach by a protected dune area, which is abundant with
wildlife, flaura and fauna. The lagoon itself is a haven for a vast array of bird life, including one of the rarest and oldest birds in the world, the Purple Gallinule. Other birds to look out for are Hoopoes, Flamingos, Herons, Black Storks, Black Winged Stilts, Ibis, King Fishers, Bee Eaters, and many waders and birds of prey, with a wooden board walk leading to a viewing tower, this is truly, a bird watchers paradise. |

This area has bars, snack bars, coffee
shops and several very good supermarkets. Most coffee shops and
supermarkets are open from 8am and have fresh bread and croissants daily. There is a fabulous selection of Portuguese restaurants in the area. Portugal is famous for it’s Frango com piri piri (chicken with piri piri) and only 5mins by car is the famous village of Guia where you will find the best piri piri, you may even bump into Sir Cliff Richard, as he has a house and vineyard there. There are also Indian, Italian and Chinese Restaurants in the area. 5 mins along the coast you come to the small cosmopolitan town of Albufeira which caters for every taste and has a good night life. |
