Alto Golf golf course

This spectacular golf course is set in the beautiful lagoon and nature reserve at salgados beach. The course is laid out in a links style defined by palm trees and giving it a totally different feeling from other courses in the Algarve.

The course is a par 72 6,000 metres in length with a lay out of 4 par 3’s 4 par 5’s and 10 par 4’s one of the great features of salgados is the use of the natural lakes. The par 5 6th hole is stroke index 1, is known as the Algarve’s most challenging hole, an accurate second shot will set you up for a brave approach shot across the lake to the large undulating green. The par 3 12th hole is all carry across water, land it on the green and a birdie awaits you, under club, and the fish await you! The 14th and 15th holes are two large par 5’s which gives you the opportunity to use your long irons. The 18th runs along the river and protected by greenside bunkers, can make or break a good card.
ALAMOS GOLF

Alamos is laid out around two large reservoirs with spectacular views of the Monchique mountains and vineyard.

The course is a par 71 5,644 metres in length. The front nine wind around the reservoir and then turns into the valley where you are met with some challenging tree lined holes. The two big par 5’s and the rest of the back nine have a links style feel giving you a great variation of holes.

Play this course and see a side of the Algarve most golfers don’t see with it’s natural features and great mountain views.
MORGADO GOLF

There are few if any, golf courses in the Algarve that can measure up to the unspoilt naturalness of this magnificent course.

Set in 980 hectares of rolling valley making it one of the longest layouts in Portugal. One of the main features of this course is the large undulating greens, with an average size of 800m2, which make great targets for long approach shots. This par 73 is 6,315 metres with 5 par 5’s, 9 par 4’s and 4 par 3’s, this is a true championship course. The front nine has all the openness of a classic links course set in the full view of the club house. The back nine is a classic out and back layout which has more undulating fairways.

The course has many challenging bunkers and water hazards.

GRAMACHO

Nick Price, the former world Nr.1 player, teamed up with the well-known golf course architect Ronald Fream, to create a uniquely designed 18 hole course with 27 varied greens that enable the golfer to play the same course several time with different greens and new challenges. The design technique has positioned the greens and protective bunkers so that an 18 hole round is a genuine challenge. The positioning of the tee markers helps to increase this variety still further. In the Nick Price style, the wonderful characteristics already existing on the site, from the boulder outcrops and dry stone walling to the fig, carob and olive trees, have been complemented by artfully positioned lakes and bunkers. These hazards, combined with the design of the greens and fairways, result in a challenging but attractive course, that is maintained at tournament standard all the year round.
VALE DA PINTA

The Pinta course is one of the best-designed courses in Europe. It is a Championship course with an exceptional layout designed by the famous American golf course architect, Ronald Fream, and inaugurated in 1992. It has earned a deserved reputation for the outstanding level of maintenance of the course, and its design, which makes it a challenge to golfers of all standards. The Pinta course was 5 consecutive time host to the Seniors Tour. The fairways are Bermuda grass, while strategically positioned sand bunkers protect the greens, clad in Pen Cross Bent, and two ornamental lakes influence play at four different holes around the course. The rolling terrain is dotted with carob, fig, almond and olive trees, some of which are more than 600 years old, and a very special feature of this course is one olive tree that dates back more than 1200 years.
SILVES GOLF

Silves is a serene spot, but the course is anything but the proverbial walk in the park. A drive as the opening hole has to flirt with two water hazards on both flanks. A heroic and straight shot will reward the player with an easy uphill approach. Silves encourages and rewards attacking play. The excellent condition, all year round, is ideal for low scoring. A relentless test in precision, this course has no peers. It is the “archetype” of man-sized parkland golf. Most holes offer a spectacular mountain and valley view, overlooking palm trees and olive groves. The severity of the bunkering is enough defence against the onslaught of the games big guns.
ALTO GOLF
